My experience has been mixed. I have been using MS-DOS 6+
on several machines and interlinking them. One day I
decided to install DR-DOS 7.02 on one machine.
Still having a need to have the machines talk to each
other, I put intersvr.exe on the DR machine. Going back to
the client (MS) I proceeded to connect to the DR machine.
That went fine until I discovered that the more I accessed
the machine, the more the FAT got thrashed. Before I could
catch it, the whole drive was a gonner.
  So . . . who do I blame? (other than me) <g>

Cheers,
        Ole Juul
