Well, technically it is fully compatible with the IRC RFC specifications and
most IRC networks (haven't tried it on DALnet or any other ircd that supports
long nicks...) However, it doesn't understand some commands (I don't think it
does DCC CHAT for instance) and, when in 'comic strip' mode, puts out status
messages as real text messages, but prepended with '#' - it just annoys people
who use a plain client.
It's like plaintext and HTML - technically they're the same, but the HTML has
its own formatting commands that only confuses someone without an HTML viewer
