Hi All,
}- Sooo -- anyone out there like any other dos offline mail
}- readers and/or reply senders? I've recently tried newswerthy,
}- rcently made freeware, and found it quite buggy.
For what little news reading I've done, I like NetTamer. It lets
you use your favorite text editor to write replies. It puts all
the messages in one large concatinated file.
For email I like NetMail Pro (also by "Uncle Dave" Colston, author
of NetTamer). But technically it's not an off-line reader, all
it does is get and send mail - you use your text editor to read
the mail and write replies. This app keeps the messages in
individual files, incoming mail with full headers, and outgoing
mail only needs the address and subject line, the program puts
the rest of the headers in. It's a fast, easy, and simple email
app that handles large and small amounts of mail easily, no
matter what the size of the individual messages.
BTW my only complaint concerning Arachne and other browsers
that have email support - they always convert the mail to HTML
which makes it slow, especially on larger messages and digests
and such. But there are always problems in DOS when trying to
switch back and forth between graphics and text mode, so I expect
the conversion to HTML is necessary.
