Boanne:
I doubt that you would be very happy if my 85 year old mother took her
scissors to your local library books and removed what offended her 1914
sensibilities. So why have an ISP choose your content? IF that truly
appeals to you, maybe you should try reading some of the usenet groups
from mainland China. They seem less than enthusiastic about having the
government censor their information.
For a person who claims to be self-taught on writing DOS scripts it
seems odd to me that you want your ISP to control your downloaded
content. Why not do your own filtering of content?

Hi Ben,

I tend to agree :) As you are probably know there is a *lot* of
sueing that goes on in America, people take people to court here
at the drop of a hat. That's one of the reasons I think
regulation is coming (and in several different areas, not just
pornography) here in America, it's only a matter of time until
someone sues an ISP for something and wins.
I also think ISPs are missing an opportunity to make money in
this area. What I mean is, I think there is probably a pretty
big market in America (and probably in Australia from the sound
of things) for ISP's that offer "child-safe" access. In our
system this is capitalism at it's finest; "Find out what people
want and sell it to them." If ISPs would do this, I'm sure
there's enough of a market for it that they could make a tidy
profit.
