Not sure where to ask this - but since this old computer is probably old enough to be considered a survivor of sorts.... Does anyone have any ideas on the replacement for the horizontal output transistor of a CTX-1451C. The original was definitely shorted - but the power supply was shutting down from the short - so hopefully no other damage. I'm working completely without schematics, unfortunately.. Original part was marked C5250 - and the only books available here are ECG cross - nothing - not for C5250, 2SC5250, etc.... I I gambled 80 Pesos (about $2 US) that one of the more common horizontal output replacement transistors - with damper diode - a D1555 would do the trick. Well, the power supply is now happy - no more short. But still no picture. I don't know if that transistor is not working - or if I have to work back in the circuit. So before I start to do that - does anybody have an idea on a recommended cross for that part?
