Thanks for all the help.
I found the info I needed at Sam's - www.repairfaq.com. Not an
actual cross - but the Xstor I have was in a list of others. It
was enough to confirm that my gamble was right.
But I still have no picture - at all. Cathodes are glowing on the
tube, I've got almost 70 V on the Collector of the HOT (I'm going
to assume that's not low) - I can hear the vertical scan on a
radio - not so sure I hear horizontal though. No clear higher
frequency components there.....I'm bamboozled. I started
tracing back from the base of the HOT - looking for open FR or
diode - or fired cap - and about 2 hours into that I said - "Gotta
be a better way."
So right now I'm waffling between taking it to a shop that does
this all the time and maybe knows some voltage points, etc... with
the possibility that it's BER and I waste money to find
out....or....stamping it BER myself - and just running to the
store and buying a new one.....
BTW - schematics are readily available through sourcees on the
net. But run typically $60 a piece. OK if you work with one
model all the time - but for one piece - forget it!
Thanks all around....
Bob
