You were able to get Toshiba's DOS 3.3 available for download on the
website because IBM and MicroSoft permitted others to license DOS, then
tweak it, add to it, and otherwise do whatever they wanted to it, as long as
it retained all the full compatibilities with MS- or PC-DOS, and as long as
the software gave appropriate copyright notices and credits where due.
Toshiba is completely within their rights to make any version of Toshiba's
DOS from version 5.0 on back available in any manner and at any price they
want, as are Compaq, Zenith, Hewlett-Packard, and any other company that had
their own versions of DOS. NOw, I must go to that site and start snarfing.
