   Raymond - just a thought or two. Firstly, is the parity or
no-parity for RAM set correctly in BIOS. Possibly if the machine
expects to find a parity bit and the RAM hasn't got one, random
results could occur. Secondly, is there any cache and, if so, is
it set up correctly in the BIOS?

   Finally, I've found that sometimes a machine can just crash
lifeless at reset because the video card has developed some
fault. On one occasion, it was simply that the card wasn't quite
seated in its ISA slot properly.

   Hope this might give you some clues!
