My dad's new PC does not have any means of backup (unless you count the
floppy drive) and I'd like to set up a PC with a tape drive and a network
card that I could hook into his computer and use to back it up (I'm thinking
of all kinds of applications for that kind of thing). I anticipate using
LFNBK to capture the long file names, start up the network, then back his
machine thru it to tape.
I don't want to get into discussions about the good or bad of LFNBK or what
is the best method of backup (tape, ZIP, Jaz, etc.). I just want to know
this; once I get the network cards in the machines, have 'em hooked up and
the drivers handy, what do I do to set up a cheap (or free) peer-to-peer
network so that I can do the backup?
Thanks!
