This is the first time I heard about the idea of the BIOS
being an OS. But intrestingly enough, no programemr or engineer
I ever talked with refered to the BIOS as an OS. They refered to
it as a BIOS.

Which is what I think of NewDeal is. Just a GUI software, not part
of the OS.

Which is also not the topic. We're just trying to determine what
is an OS, and what is not.

The conclusion for this thread, if there is any, can help to
determine if Windows 9x really IS a standalone OS, or just a GUI shell
on a new version of DOS.

BTW, for those who claim that NewDeal is an OS, I can also say
that Norton Commander 5 is my OS, using the same assumations.
Doesnt sounds very accurate, I believe.
