but am in the "pondering" state only yet:

The idea is to put a server in the basement, with a dedicated
telco line, and have the different parties in the house connected
(ground and three upper floors plus a backyard house). There are
technical as well as social-administrative question to solve, and not
least monetary; but it seems evident that already with two parties
participating the costs per client can be reduced considerably -
installation of one extra telco connection is rather expensive here,
but my telco line already is close to "saturation" and I might be
forced to have a second line anyway (daughter starting to telephone on
her own...) So.

I try to assemble the bits and pieces and build a paper model, then
start discussion with the neighbours (two have just recently moved in,
so we three others don't know them really yet). I think of the thing
even as kind of a social model to try out. And sure there shouldn't be
too much administrative and maintenance workload.
