Ahh - that's the ancient case: these had a slipping contact on the
central axis which inevitably started noising after a while. I have
still one of the contruction-likes (251) running, and even with the
recommended "drop of oil" (there *is* a tiny airing hole with a dust
filter on it) it never stopped the noise, so I packed it in a wooden
box, outside the 'puter case, and which is noise-dampening (a kind of
labyrinth, clad with coutchouc foam, and a little *quite* fan) and
have my calm. Never bothered to oil it again, it's running now
precisely 10 years.
