I'm afraid you are in seriuos trouble!! You cannot open HD case in a home room,
they are packed inside special white rooms, so called because they contains
specials atmosphere. If you HD motor will not spin up you can't replace it in a
easy way because it is connect directly to alluminiun disk inside your HD case.

Try to make pressure (don't be excessive) on HD circuits side, sometime a bad
solder can be recovered in this mechanical way. There are some test points on
this side, if you have HD technical documentation you can try to control
electrical parts of your HD. In this case you can simply replace HD electronics
for a really cheaper cost.

The best solution to this kind of problems is prevention. 2500 DM is a lot of
money, but the work under the data recovery is very expensive.
