Hi David,

DS>MM> There's no better fax program for DOS than BGFax.

DS>I dunno about PCL files, but it will send PCX files, and TIFF/Class F

Yup... you're right about PCL files. I've been faxing PCL files
with BGFax for so long I forgot that I had set up a conversion
program in a batch file to do it. :)

It's a very useful program called Convert which came as part of
QuickLink Fax (which came with my Courier modem). It converts a
wide variety of filetypes into QFX format, which of course, BGFax
can use. Here's part of it's help:

I can email it to you if you like.

DS>system using BGFax, a SurvPC (286-12 Compaq with two 20-meg HDs) and a
DS>conventional Fax machine, along with a little finagling to get the
DS>files to a system that has the space to store the documents. Each
 DS>page is about 25k, so that's about 40 pages a Meg, 40,000 a Gig.
DS>And using BGFax, it's all done with hardware we already had.

Well done. You really know how to get the most out of equipment. :)

DS>Yes, it is very flexible, very simple to set up and use and very
DS> effective. I recommend it highly. Could you tell? <g>

Slightly. :)
