Hi, thanx to Bernie and Pippi5, I got introduced to your list, and it looks very interresting...
Very nice to see that www.v2.nl/v2_os gets some attention here aswell :)

I'm mailing you to answer some questions I saw in some mails forwarded to me:

> after removing the HDs just to make sure nothing could happen) it gave me errors while
booting.Perhaps IDE drives are needed for it to work as it should?
Yes, the OS doesn't do anything to your harddisks as long as you don't execute a Format or a Syscopy command, but that should make sense ;) The OS tries to make a partition list at bootup to see available disks. If it doesn't find a HD, it hangs, or gives a message if I'm correct.. This will be removed soon, the V2_OS should run without problems on a PC without HD's

> I wasn't able to get any input from the keyboard
This is a bug reported by a few other people (mostly laptop users) and has to do with an incompatible BIOS. It can be fixed and we'll try to do so soon.

>It's extremly fast, but without any actuall programs (the pages were up
this friday if I understand it correctly) it's not very usefull
Yes we opened friday, and we didn't expect this much attention :) ( over a 2000 visitors in the weekend)  A lot of coders told us they would start coding right away or were waiting for CLibs, so expect your apps soon :)

> I couldn't find any way to view what files that were on the floppy either, but perhaps I just missed the command ;)
The command is 'files'. But if you didn't explicitly coppied files on it yourself, the demofloppy is empty, just invisible systemfiles (which arn't realy files)

> it cannot read DOS files/partitions so you can't really do bugger all with it yet.
A FAT module would be very nice, but we're a bit short on coders.. anyone likes to help ?

I hope this takes away some questions, and if you have more, I'm glad to hear. Also you could try to post them on the forum (www.v2.nl/v2_os) so other people can help you, or your answer helps others

Bye!

Joost
