Do you have a PC speaker driver for Windows installed to drive your
PC speaker? If you don't have this that might be the source of your
problem. I think Windows came with one once, but it was not on my
Win3.x disks and I had to find a shareware/freeware (can't remember
which) driver that worked fine for the various system sounds in
Win3.x.
