I don't have my fathers PS/2 keyboard handy to look at, but as I recall
thats just where the cable plugs into the keyboard.  It's just removable
from the outside rather than the inside.  I have a Unisys keyboard that is
similar.  I believe Compaq did the same as well.  I don't know about the
keys, However.
