the general subject of the history of some wars and the politics and the
religions bringing about such futile bloody struggles.
All of the above is off topic, and it is likely to generate flame wars. We
must remember that we SURVPC LIST subscribers represent many nationalities
and religions and world-views.
Let us keep our discussions on topic.
In my own country I once met a foreign visitor with whom I attempted to
initiate a conversation. We could not communicate very well because it
seems that he had learned but one phrase in English. He was very elderly,
but still of robust health. He indicated by means of gestures simulating
the firing of a rifle and the thrusting of bayonets, and by pointing to
old wound scars, that he was a veteran of close combat in some war. I don't
know where or when, or what side he was on. The one phrase in English that
he understood well and knew how to say: "Politics sucks".
I think we should all agree.
