The welcome note says:

SurvPC List is an open list for discussions of older or low-resource IBM PC
and compatibles and DOS internet.
This should be most of all a fun list for "die hard" DOS fans,
classic/obsolete PC users, and hobyists.
Please participate and enjoy!

Appropriate topics include but are not limited to:
* Older PC's: IBM PC and compatibles; PC/XT 8086, 8088, XT/AT 80286, 80386,
and 80486.
* Low resource PC's: Earlier Pentium and above with insufficient memory
and/or hard drive space.
* DOS internet: Any MS-DOS based internet clients.
Also related software, hardware, pheripherals, tip & tricks, issues, etc.

IMHO we can discuss hardware and DOS programs (related software) according
to this note.
But I think we have streched it a little further to also incorporate a
little Linux, FreeBSD, OS/2 and other alternatives and some Windows. This
isn't a problem for me anyway but I can't speak for anyone else.

I don't disslike GUI just the fact that things that aren't supposed to be
run inside a GUI more and more end up there. (Ex. new games) For OLE
(cut'n'paste) I think Windows is great (espacially since the new
"alternative" Linux isn't an alternative when it comes to this), but only
for just that purpose.
But I think what most here feel that we want to do things our way and not
beeing forced to do it in some way just because "everyone else does", and
this might make what we write a little too much to the "other side" at
times. I don't care if everyone else uses Windows, as long as I don't have
to suffer in some way from it.
