I have a Compaq brand, Video Graphics Monitor, Model 420. It's blurry
and out of focus.
Inside the case I found 6 dials around the neck of the tube which I saw
had a painted line for the factory alignment. I loosened the locking
dial then adjusted the other dials which resulted in positions different
from the factory alignment painted line. I've done this 4 times over 2
days and it's still out of focus.
It's easier on the eye in DOS mode but in Windows it's difficult to read
folder names from the File Manager.
Can it be that either the quality of the monitor is so low that it will
never be sharp or that over time it's degenerated so that it will never
be sharp and in focus?
