It's not a "DOS" command, but if you include
ATM0 in the commands that are sent to the modem
when it's initialized, it turns "Monitor" off.
(If you already have an init string for the
modem, just include the M0 somewhere in the
string.)
examples:
ATM0 = Monitor OFF
ATM0S0=1 = Monitor OFF, Answer on first ring
ATZM0 = Reset Modem, Monitor OFF
ATM0DT17024310489 = Monitor OFF, Dial my fax line.
