I think whe should check what the greek (or is it latin?) pronounciation is
since that's where the word originally come from.
All people (including non-computer people and before the term GigaByte was
even invented) have said it with a hard "g" to me.

Now SCSI is another thing entirely, I think I've heard well over 5 diffrent
pronounciations and used 2 or 3 myself.
