Try RTF.
M$ Word can read most versions of WP files, and WP
can read older versions of Word files. I have solved
some interchange problems using "Save As ..." and
"Files of type ..." choosing a format both sides can
read. However, I have found that .rtf is the most
universally supported in the Win World.
