IIRC the EPPPD driver is the largest one of the bunch,
because of the debugging information it supplies. If your
system seems to be working OK, try the EPPP driver instead.

Even smaller is the PPP driver, but some apps require EPPP
for its ethernet emulation.

I'm not familiar with NetDial, and wonder what it would be
doing taking up memory after its job was done. Try using
kermit, and exit without closing the serial connection (I
forget the command, but I know it's available :) )
