I checked my Logitech mouse manual, the serial and bus mice have three buttons, the
PS/2-mouse only two. The middle button can be used with lots of DOS apps, like
Symphony, 1-2-3, AutoCAD etc. The Microsoft mouse has only two buttons, by choosing
Micrsofts products you always loose....
