I have recently (today) bought one 3COM 509 and one 509B cheap (cost for
them was ca 20% that a new ISA or PCI 10-MBit card costs - the 3 meter TP
cable I also bought was more expensive than the cards together <G>).
Anyway since both work I was wondering which I should use? I only need one
for the time being. Apparently there are some diffrences (in the same setup
program) between the two - the "b" can for instance autodetect if BNC or
AUI is used but that doesn't matter to me since I know I only have BNC.
The computer isn't what you can say "heavily used" (P120, 48MB RAM, 1.27GB
HD) since it's my familys and they often don't use it (only after I move it
into my room for some fine-tuning) but if anyone knows of any reason why I
should use one and not the other I would really like to know, and nothing
has happened on the list for over a week now anyway...
