The problem is likely that the kernel isn't looking for the
right card in the right place. I've no experience with
Redhat, so I can't offer any distribution-specific
solutions. The generic cure would be to recompile the
kernel, which isn't as daunting as you might think, and
once done will result in a leaner, more finely tuned system
all around.
