Only for Windows(tm)*95(tm)** sp1 and up.

... or a CD burner. Any way to put that image on an HD and use it?
anyone? Nevermind. Once disk space is allocated for the 2nd (usable)
copy of the image, there's not enough room for the install. Brought to
you by the "experts" in real time/embedded software.

It's become quite plain that to do anything with a _reasonable_ machine
(a 286/12 is reasonable, a 386SX moreso, anything > p120 is absurd) one
must write the apps oneself. Entirely due to "new" (read "kludged") data
formats. Forth or a variety of Funge is suggested. Assembly if you must.

Biggest problem is that to get info hidden in formats invented since
CP/M, one must get a copy of the format specification. Not difficult.
See PDF_Spec.PDF, RTF_Spec.PDF, WFW_Spec.WFW, so on. Trouble is, one
must READ the ____ specification, apply it, and ONLY then does one have
the tools to READ THE SPECIFICATION IN THE FIRST PLACE!

There's another way to get them. BTFM. 39-568 USD each depending on
originator and source. Purchase enough just to write the apps to gather
minimal info on your desired subject, and you've spent enough for the
latest desktop absurdity and a year of broadband.

QNX is probably the closest we're going to come to a minimalistic,
supported info platform for quite a while. So, what portion of the
people in your town/state/province/area are equipped to use it?

Knowledge, wisdom, and information are being hidden. Those with money
find them if they wish; usually they'd rather do e-Bay, online tickers,
or porn sites.

Stephen: thanks for your work on BasicLinux. For reasons of personal
taste and true minimalist ethics, I've put that portion of my HD to
other uses right now. All the same, it's very much worth doing and quite
valuable. Once again, thank you.

I await flames and rants. I've strayed off subject, but certainly not
"OT". Some advice: don't mention "Ado*e" or any of their products or
formats. As they are lying, extorting, coercing, misleading, and
blackmailing the producers of knowledge and information into hiding same
from users that aforementioned corporation doesn't approve of, it's
getting harder and harder to restrain my wrath (can you tell?), and
there's not enough memory, disk space, or light years of tape to hold it.

The PC version of "Survivor": last one left on the island sinks with it.
(For those who don't know, it's yet another reference to US television.
It's been downhill since Gilligan.)
