Bernie, you can hold the door, hold my coat, bring me flowers and pay for
the dinner all you like, so long as you never presume what I can or cannot
do! In the words of one of the feminazis though, "It's Male patronage, to
assume that a woman is a delicate creature or that she needs assistance in
any way. It's belittling and I won't stand for it!" and I envision a
little stamp of a foot here, but then, that's comedy... ~grin~
I confess, after my date holds the door for me I usually hold the second
inner door for him with a huge smile. I bring him flowers, and buy him
dinners when I have the money. I believe in equality, but not an absence
of courtesy. He likes it.
