I intended to do something like this about two years ago. Since I
hadn't found a newshosting service ( and telling frankly I've never
heard of such service either ) I started to look for a possibility to
host my own newsserver. While searching for manageable software I
encountered KA9Q for DOS. Some versions contain a newsserver. So it
might be worth to take this software into consideration, especially for
the hamradio environment. (It's got the big advantage of a static IP
address - free of charge.) The additional equipment is not expensive at all.
Due to the legal situation in Germany I had to take part with my plan:
the Telecommunication Act states that data transmitted by hamradio must
be hamradio related, otherwise the permission will be withdrawn. Should
this not apply for Argentina, you could have your low-cost web/ftp/news
site at home in your room.
