Find VDE. Runs on 8088 and always will, by edict of its author. Always
developed, supported.
Best way to use it is by the WordStar keys, yet ctrl-esc gets you menus.
Any word processing function you want is there. Only drawback I know of
is that file size is limited to about 620K or so.
Font selection and colors are NOT WORD PROCESSING FUNCTIONS. I can say
that louder if you like. VDE does support formatting such for the
printer, though - if you know your print codes. Bold, italics, and
underline _are_ word processing functions and are supported by VDE. The
screen display will show the following for italics, for example:
(keep in mind that the "I" will be in inverse video)
Normal text Iitalic textI normal text.
Oh, yeah --- it's really fanky fast.
Yes, I do use "fanky" in Scrabble. But then, no one will play with me.
