Thank you, Mike... I believe I may already have such a small side-
cutter to do what you've suggested.  If that's possible, it *would*
be much simpler!  I also happen to have many discarded surgical
clamps, tweezers, etc., which are wonderful for this sort of work
as well... ;-)
