The command you're thinking of is "at+fclass=?" .
Another command worth trying out is "at#cls=8" . If you get
"OK" in response, you have a modem with voice capabilities
(not all of them necessarily have speaker and microphone
jacks).
Batch file enthusiasts might find it interesting to try to
port this data/fax/voice phone answering script to a DOS
environment:
