No, I think you were right the first time.  I couldn't find a gnu or gnuish
folder at simtelnet, but a search on 'Fold' of the DOS archive produced a list
containing:

...
fold32.zip    (930913)   41K  Print text in 2 or more columns; many options
fold10.zip    (910420)    5K  Insert CR/LF after specified text line length

Probably looks like fold32.zip might do the trick.  fold10.zip looks like
another program altogether.  I downloaded fold32.zip, because I've been
looking for something like that, too.  I'll play with it later.
