The reference to Java may not be likely, but it is an example of where
a server has code which runs on your machine. There are a lotta outfits
setting up on the net who hope to sell folks on the idea of running
software from their servers compiled on your system so that they can
have some control, and make money on that control.

Whatever you think JAVA does is clouded by the fact of a proprietary
operating system where you do not have access to the source code to
understand the inevitable bugs and glitches. as the host software
gets more powerful it becomes more dangerous. If you want convenience
that they offer, you havta trust them that they will not screw up your
system either accidentally with bugs, or as the victim of a hack.

Just cause you dont see a way for JAVA or any other server software
to damage your system dont mean that it cannot exist, especially when
they do not let you look at the source code of your own operating
system.
