MS-DOS Compatibility Mode is where Windows doesn't use its 32-bit drivers to
access the drive, but rather uses the BIOS INT13h routines. It's used if, for
instance, you have a driver installed from CONFIG.SYS for a card Windows
doesn't recognise, or if you have a virus intercepting INT13h.
