This fixed it!!! I went to Office Depot and bought a Belkin Mouse for $11, which came with the PS/2 to serial adapter. Prior to this, I was trying a Microsoft mouse and two different IBM mice. I could have sworn the Microsoft Mouse had come with the PS/2 to serial adapter and would do double duty, but obviously not. Thanks for everyone's help!!!
