Not all PS/2 mice will work with a COM port, even with the
appropriate adaptor. If you have any docs for the mouse, check that
first. Then make sure you are using the appropriate driver for a
mouse using a COM port, and not the PS/2 mouse driver, unless by
chance the driver works for both types. If all this is correct and
you are loading the driver with the appropriate switch(s), then the
port may be dead. If you have an old external modem lying about you
might try connecting it to the port and then use a term program to
see if the modem is seen by the program. Also make sure the port
connector you are using is the port NUMBER (COM1, COM2, etc.) that
you think it is. HTH.
