chat.exe dialer and pppd.exe ports for DOS are so damn badly designed and implemented.
I am still try to figure out why chat worked when I had the 8bit PPI data/fax modem on com4/irq3 and now locks up (USR/3com 56k internal also on COM4 IRQ3) I do not know if this will help yo, any but here is my connect.bat @echo off cd\net\ppp if "%1"=="/D" goto disc if "%1"=="/d" goto disc lsl.com :: c:\vp\bins\netryche.exe /c:4 /b:38400 /A:c:\vp\scripts\login.ini ppp.exe /p 0x60 /c 4 /i 3 /b 0x2E8 /s 19200 /h 1 /t 180 /f 1 /q 0 /d 'none' /u '' goto end :disc _termin.com 0x60 :end cd\ :exit SHOO whoever ported these should have their bachlors in computer science revoked. -chris (I have a B.C.S. (bastard or computer science)uhuh) http://tkp.darktech.org --- To make the matter short: I paid for an internal Award Technology v.90 modem, it works quite well with DOS, and I've resolved that if for some odd reason this PS/VP can't run BasicLinux's chat program without an *external* modem, I'm just out of luck. Nonetheless... if anyone out there can verify that a PS/ValuePoint with machine type 6381, model M50 (433DX/Si), can operate -- and *only* operate -- with an *external* modem, so be it. In that case, we can simply scratch off BasicLinux for my machine's internal modem configuration. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Check out Yahoo!
