My problem has been getting chat to work in Steve Darnold's BasicLinux in console mode with a IBM 433DX/Si, machine type 6381, model M50. I've had no problems with whatever dialers I've used under PC-DOS 7 with Net-Tamer, Arachne or Bobcat. So I don't need any Linux programs ported to DOS. If someone finds out a way to alter the *Linux* version of chat to work with my system's internal 56k V.90 modem, I'd be quite grateful. Didn't you mail your message below to the "LifeRaft" SurvPC list last week... or have you just repeated it in this list, since I didn't reply to the first one? Or is something odd going on with the Internet again...? >chat.exe dialer and pppd.exe ports for DOS are so >damn badly designed and implemented. >I am still try to figure out why chat worked when I >had >the 8bit PPI data/fax modem on com4/irq3 and now locks >up (USR/3com 56k internal also on COM4 IRQ3) >I do not know if this will help yo, any but here is my >connect.bat >@echo off >cd\net\ppp >if "%1"=="/D" goto disc >if "%1"=="/d" goto disc >lsl.com >:: c:\vp\bins\netryche.exe /c:4 /b:38400 >/A:c:\vp\scripts\login.ini >ppp.exe /p 0x60 /c 4 /i 3 /b 0x2E8 /s 19200 /h 1 /t >180 /f 1 /q 0 /d 'none' /u '' >goto end >:disc >_termin.com 0x60 >:end >cd\ >:exit Jerry... on his IBM PS/2 Model 30 / 286 | My laptop computer's a ***** 33.6kbps/30MB HD/1 MB RAM/10MHz | Tandy TRS-80 Model 100 Net-Tamer V 1.11.2X - Registered To unsubscribe from SURVPC send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe SURVPC in the body of the message.
