No COMPAQ expert here but I'm using one right now. AFAIK you need software to access the 'bios' on a COMPAQ machine. If you don't have the software you will need to find it or download it from Compaq's website if they still offer it as a download. Ignore the part about having to create a 4meg diagnostic partition, no one does and the machine will work regardless. This one works and so does my Presario with no diag partition.
