Hello All -

I've added my second questionnaire to the music
pages in an attempt to adjust the streaming audio
to accomodate the 'average' listener. I have
experimented with 'massaging' the WAV files
prior to the creation of the MP3 and WMA files
and it is possible to reduce the rate the files
stream at without totally clobbering the sound
quality. I don't really _want_ to do this for
every music file but am willing if the need is
there for the streaming to be useful.

Anyone willing to take the few minutes to stream
at least one music file and then report the results
will be helpful.

I know what works for an 800mhz Pentium at 56kbps
dialup. I need to know what works for everyone
else. :-)

For those with W9x or above OS note the XMPlay software
mentioned at the top of the questionnaire.

At 250k it's quite amazing and does not 'install' itself
into your OS. It _will_ become the default for MODs, MP3,
and others if you tell it to but it can also be used from
a floppy diskette. Remarkable when compared to the newest
Real Audio install of 50 meg!
