It is the standard bare.i kernel from Slackware 3.5.

Do you mean compiling from source code?  Or running precompiled
glibc2 packages?  The glibc2 package from Slack81 (/slackware/a)
is only for running precompiled binaries.  It is not suitable
for making glibc2 binaries from source code.
