    There is always ANTIWORD for DOS and LINUX (and other platforms), by
Adri van Os. Writes to .TXT or directly to a PostScript printer.

    I use the DOS version all the time because I also get sent stuff in
one of the MS-Word formats, and I refuse to have anything to do with
Windows9x or above, and have no MS-Word version at all.

     The Linux version shouldn't be too hard to slot into a slim BL,
should it ?
