How about .tgz? I don't have this particular file, but transfered a long filename .tar.gz from Linux to DOS (FreeDOS) and ended up with something like xxx.9, which I renamed to xxx.tgz. 'gzip.exe -d xxx.tgz' produced xxx.tar, and 'tar.exe -xvf xxx.tar' untarred the archive. I'm not sure where I originally got gzip.exe and tar.exe, dated 1993 and 1990 respectively.
