Hello Garry... and everyone else who made suggestions on this request
for info...

Just copying files onto a /sys boot disk does not work. The disk is
then bootable, but it just leaves you at a command prompt, instead of
placing a special file in the boot sector that will initiate the new
OS setup... none of the NT Server 3.5 setup files would run, from the
DOS command prompt.

Garry, COPYQM.EXE worked super!... a great addition to my growing pile
of toolz... thanks.

I had both the 5.25" and 3.5" drives on the same computer, but I
noticed a very curious anomaly, after I had made my 3.5" copy, worth
remembering...

This was my old DOS 6.0 IBM 486 machine. Copyqm was able to do the
image fine, but when I checked the 3.5" disk with a 'dir', it came
back 'File not found'... DOS could not recognise the imaged files. I
was skeptical, so I walked the disk over to my newer PIII machine,
with Win98se and DOS 7, and it was able to read the disk, without any
problem. My guess... DOS 6 can't read NTFS, but apparently *can* read
whatever is placed in the boot sector, well enough to run NT install.

To everyone else... I never got to trying the various suggestions,
because Garry's worked first, but I archived the emails, and will
check out some of the stuff later, when time permits.

Thanks again!
