The hardware situation is about to break wide open.  I saw an ad for a
300MHz, computer with 64MB RAM and a 3.2 GB HD, a 56Kb modem, mouse,
video and sound card --- $299    Add a monitor and it jumps to $499. 
With Linux in the package - WOW!   Hardware is about to become a
commodity.

I can think of some ways!  ;-D

I think that a lot of the apps are there, they just aren't advertized or
hyped the way the commerical stuff.  When was the last time you say an
ad on TV for GIMP, or Blender or ACM or...?
