Hi Zentara,
one thing I found helped with download speed, was to tweak the
/etc/ppp/options file. I've my mru @ 250 & the mtu @ 1500.
Secondly, if you read over your documentation that came with your modem,
you may find adding the odd instruction to your initialization string
will get it to work harder for it's living, as it were.
My modem is a Dynalink 28.8 & I regularly get 30 bps, but it varies from
stall to 60 bps. Using hardware flow-control & instructing the modem to
negotiate up the speed, with %E2, for a Rockwell V34 chip.
My full string is ModemIniString=AT&F&C1&D2&K3L0 %c3 %E2 X1
