This is the first time I've heard of it affecting a NIC on an Ultra 2.
I've only seen it (and heard of it) on the Ultra 1, E models.  (Non-E
models of the Ultra 1 have a 10Mbit lance ethernet chip instead of an
hme).  I'm guessing that eth0 is your onboard NIC... it only affects the
onboard on the U1E (and maybe the U2 onboard as well).

Jorge Rivas already posted my one-liner patch.  It seems to fix the
