Is there any way to tell whether the machine knows that the pci card is
inserted in the PCI slot?

I thought about installing Gentoo on the machine, but thought it would
take too long before I had a machine to work with. That's why I went for
the Suse 7.3 option, plus I had read quite good comments on the Sparc
version of Suse.

Thanks for your replies.
